Delicious food, cozy atmosphere
The pub grub was delightful, particularly the Sunday carvery. The choices of meats and vegetables were cooked to perfection, and the friendly staff enhanced the welcoming environment.
Unfortunately, the veggie option was disappointing, lacking appeal and flavor. some noise from other patrons was noticeable, which detracted from overall comfort.

Check-in experience felt grumpy and disorganized!!! Kettle filling a challenge with thimble-sized sink!!! Furniture rickety, while the heating situation was a real disappointment!!!

i had a nice stay at straw bear. the room was clean, and the beds were super comfortable. the shower was great, and there were plenty of towels. it’s in a good location, just a 20-minute drive from peterborough, making it convenient for travelers. also, the tea and coffee in the room were a nice touch.
check-in was a bit chaotic, but it wasn't a big deal.

Great Carvery Experience
I had a lovely time enjoying the Sunday carvery, which was quite affordable at £8.99 for a hearty plate of beef and gammon, alongside perfectly cooked roast potatoes and a delightful selection of veg. While the veggie option didn’t impress, the overall food quality made up for it. The room was basic but comfortable, and the staff were genuine in their efforts to ensure a pleasant stay. check-in could definitely use a bit of a boost in organization.

The room featured comfortable beds and was clean, with good shower facilities and an ample supply of towels. A significant highlight was the affordable Sunday carvery, though the veggie option left something to be desired with its unappealing presentation. Check-in was notably disorganized, and there was a distinct lack of attention during busy periods. Although parking was straightforward, noise from nearby patrons detracted from the overall comfort of the experience.

I stayed in a Twin Room with Shower for 2 nights and the bed was super comfy. The room was clean and had a good shower with plenty of towels. Check-in was a bit chaotic because the pub was packed, but the staff were rushing to help. Nice to have tea and coffee in the room too!
